Performance Comparison between Stainless Steel Mesh and Galvanized Mesh
Stainless steel mesh is primarily classified into 201 and 304 materials based on composition. The 201 variant is prone to rust due to lower nickel content, while the higher nickel content in 304 prevents corrosion, making it an excellent choice for industrial liquid filtration. Galvanized mesh comes in two types: cold-dipped and hot-dipped.
Cold-dipped galvanized mesh resists rusting in the short term, while hot-dipped galvanized mesh, depending on the zinc content in the iron wire, remains rust-free. Lower zinc content in cold-dipped wire leads to rusting, whereas higher zinc content in hot-dipped wire prevents rusting.
Nickel and zinc are two metals resistant to oxidation in water. Nickel, being costlier and non-magnetic, contrasts with the lower-cost zinc.
Both stainless steel mesh and galvanized mesh share the characteristic of resistance to oxidation in water, differing primarily in their metal compositions.
